The Firm

Irwin & Associates formerly known as P.B. Irwin & Associates was founded back in 1974. We are a Queensland based firm of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA). Our team of professionals are engaged in providing quality services to our clients so they can rely on us for various business services and they can concentrate on their mainline business.

Our aim is to provide the best solution to our clients in the field of taxation, accounting and finance.

We have three accounting offices, they are located at The Gap & Samford Village in Brisbane and Southport on the Gold Coast.

The Directors

Mark Irwin CPA – Director    

Mark has been a Partner of Irwin & Associates since 1987. He has been a CPA since 1986 and is a chairman of several private Company boards as well as Chairman of the RIRDC Wildflowers and Native Plants Advisory Committee, Board member of Wildflowers Australia and on the QLD Sub Districts Management Committee. Mark is also a life member of the Valley Districts Cricket Club and received an Australian Sports Medal in 2000.

Albert Girle FCPA - Director

Albert (Bert ) entered into public accounting practice in 1995 in Bundaberg, being a partner in a two partner firm. The firm merged with another practice in Bundaberg and became a larger three partner practice. This practice was acquired by an accounting consolidator in 2001. Bert then moved to Brisbane in May 2001 to join PB Irwin & Associates and became a partner in July 2001. Bert is based in our Brisbane office. Prior to public practice Bert was involved with commercial accounting and administration in a broad range of industries including banking, private education, mineral processing and mining both in Australia and the Pacific rim.

Russell Maddock CPA - Director

Russell completed his Bachelor of Business degree at QUT in 1991 and was admitted as a CPA in 1995. He joined PB Irwin& Associates in the same year. He became a partner in 2002. Russell works from both the Brisbane and Gold Coast offices running up plenty of mileage on his car. Outside of work his passions are his family, classic Sunbeam cars and Hillman Imps.

Jaynesh Gounder CA - Director

Jay joined Irwin & Associates in April 2007 after emigrating from Pukekohe, New Zealand with his family. Jay joined Irwin’s as a qualified Chartered Accountant and has been a partner since January 2009. He works closely with mining services sector, medical servies and retailers.He also helps clients with the accounting software requirements such as Xero, MYOB, Banklink and Quickbooks.
